Living Islands launches first tourism product

A brand new revenue stream for The Channel Island of Alderney

Living Islands (backed by British Wildlife Trusts Partnership, 800,000 members, 47 Trusts) is a pioneering tourism initiative on the Channel Island of Alderney which aims to integrate the many aspects of island life into the conservation of wildlife on the island and in the surrounding seas, with the island’s built heritage which spans 12,000 years.

To further support the islands tourism industry, Be a Tiger identified the opportunity for Living Islands to create revenue and exposure by developing its own product in the form of a Heritage and Nature Tour. Working closely with Living Islands, the Alderney Wildlife Trust, Alderney Society and The States, the BAT team attracted the Airline Aurigny and The Georgian Hotel as sponsors, secured Eye For Business Video Production on reduced rates, and brokered a relationship with Premier Holidays to sell the tours.

With an on-line competition, supported with an integrated social media campaign, BAT’s partner Tribe PR secured national coverage in The Daily Express, to successfully launch this original new product for the island.

"Working with Be A Tiger on new ways to promote Alderney to niche markets in wildlife and heritage tourism has been a breath of fresh air.
They instinctively understand the audiences we are targeting, and I like the way their team works together in support of the client.
Social media, imagery and video have been particularly important for us, and their creative insights have helped us forge a new image for a once little known jewel of an island in the
English Channel."
