Creating an immersive heritage environment to increase dwell time
Frank Crosby led our consultant team who developed the £0.5 million Erewash Museum Old Stables project for Erewash Borough Council; our team were responsible for the research and development of audience engagement, marketing and business plans and delivering design solutions for the heritage exhibitions to be included in the museum.
We identified key audiences and stakeholders, interpretation themes, approaches and activities, devised research and consultation strategies, used focus groups, face to face and online surveys and social media to gather the views of key audiences. We then developed detailed designs for an immersive heritage environment that was created to reflect audience tastes and needs.
For the business plan we examined all current and potential income streams, assessed viability and then projected income and profit for a ten year period. We considered in detail retail, donations, fundraising, events, private hire, café operations and education outreach.
